About Radhika Baskar
She has a rich knowledge of carnatic music, a system of Indian classical music, frequently associated with southern India. She is recognized for the Thanam rendition, a specific kind of improvisation in Carnatic music. She is a regular performing artist in Radio, Television and onstage. Music is a universal language consisting of seven notes and Radhika brings in variety with a flavour of Carnatic music in her renditions to engage the Audience’s attention.
Now, with her home in Canada, she is giving solo performances, collaborating with varied musicians to create music. She is influenced by western classical, fusion, Contemporary, jazz, pop and Arabic music. It can be seen reflecting in her performances, music and compositions.
She is an accomplished Veena artist. Veena is a chordophone instrument from the Indian subcontinent.
